Information About Our Library
Library Mission
The Gibson Memorial Library provides a welcoming place
to meet and gather, offering staff skilled in providing access to the
collection of materials and electronic resources to satisfy recreational
and lifelong learning needs.
Library Card Registration
To register for a library card any person 18 years
of age or over must show some sort of identification with current
address (ie. utility bill envelope, driver's licence, etc.) For any
person under 18 years written permission must be given by parent or
legal guardian.
A library card is good for 3 years. The patron is expected to renew
the library card at the time of expiration. To replace a lost card,
the patron will be charged a fee of $1.00 for each card.
The library patron is requested to show the library card when checking out library materials. All library materials checked out to the card holder are the responsibility of the card holder.
Check out periods are two weeks for all items except art prints (one month) and videos (two days or weekend). Renewals are possible for non-reserved items. Fines are $.10 per day per item except for videos which are $1.00 per day per video.
