Yes. Cardholders sign in with their card number and the phone number on file. Guests can request a temporary pass. Free Wi-Fi is available inside and from the parking lot.
Can I reserve a meeting or study room?
Yes! Rooms are free to reserve during open hours. Call the library or visit the rooms page to reserve.
How long can I keep items? Can I renew?
Most books check out for 3 weeks; DVDs for 10 days. Items automatically renew up to 2 times (except for DVDs) if there are no holds on the material. Renew online in the catalog or give us a call.
Can I donate books to the library?
The library takes donations of newer titles in new or like new condition. IF the library cannot use the donated books, we will pass the items onto our Friends of the Library organization for their year round book sale. If you have a large amount of books to donate, donations can be dropped off at the Friends of the Library used book site which is located on the side of the Creston News Advertiser at 503 West Adams Street during their normal operating hours. Those operating hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Do you offer Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
We do offer interlibrary loan. If we don’t own it, we can usually borrow it from another library. Interlibrary loan requests can be submitted in person or over the phone. A Gibson Memorial Library card will be required to check any interlibrary loan materials out.
