Julie M. Granger grew up on a farm in Iowa. After college, she began her teaching career in Minnesota, where she met her husband. They moved to Iowa, where both of them were involved in education and speech for over thirty years in rural Iowa high schools. Mrs. Granger won the Golden Apple Award as a teacher and won acclaim as an IHSSA All-State speech coach

Granger is the author of the historical fiction Redwood Frontier series.
