Prohibition in Iowa
Due to publishing delays with the book, Rosie the Riveters of Iowa, our event has now changed to the Prohibition. If changes do occur in the publishing of the book, Linda may discuss Rosie the Riveters of Iowa.
If the book isn't published, this Lunch 'N Learn will focus on Prohibition in Iowa.
Prohibition was the period of time when it was illegal to manufacture, sell or transport liquor in the U.S. This included Iowa. So, why then, did Iowa farmers begin using their corn to produce liquor?
Linda was able to speak with the children of moonshiners and bootleggers and shares their memories. She will have specific instances of things that happened in the Creston area. Linda will have copies of all her books available for purchase.
